welcome to

MELLOR LACROSSE CLUB

Founded in 1925, Mellor Lacrosse Club has enjoyed success throughout its history winning the Northern Men's League and Cup competitions on many occasions and seeing scores of our players, both male and female, go on to represent England, Scotland and Wales national teams.  There have been many junior successes too for both our boys and girls teams but the priority emphasis is always on enjoyment, taking part and encouraging youngsters to have a passion for sport.  Remarkably, for a relatively small community, Mellor Lacrosse has 13 teams across Men, Women, Junior Boys and Junior Girls and we are extremely proud of that.  Throughout the club’s history, Mellor players have been introduced and coached into lacrosse through our extremely strong junior boys and girls sections and new players are always welcome! Though Lacrosse does not have the profile in Britain of sports such as football, participation is growing rapidly, particularly at junior and university level. Due to this growth and success, lacrosse is likely to become an Olympic Sport by 2028. Mellor Lacrosse proudly plays host to touring teams from the US at Junior level, and is notably part of the long running Metro Girls and Stockport Metros (boys) exchange programme. These representative teams from local clubs around Stockport, visit and host similar representative girls and boys teams from Anne Arundel County, Maryland in the United States. Friendships through lacrosse last long after the tours finish as many of our players will testament.  The Lacrosse season runs from September to April with weekly training (twice weekly for some teams), regular matches, tournaments and loads of social events. We’re always looking for new players to join our teams at all ages. If you would like to know more about joining an inclusive, exciting, growth team sport at a friendly local club, please contact us.
